Lately, Ballista has been pondering the purpose of this blog. Not so much whether Ballista should write it; rather, what Ballista should write about.
Many in the blog-o-sphere will tell you that you need a clearly defined purpose or theme to be a good blogger. For instance, discuss a particular industry, sport, academic subject, or person (usually one's self). Ballista tends to agree with this insight, which raises the question: What is the point of this blog?
In short, Ballistablog is intended as a space to present commentary on the world around us. This isn't so much rationalizing the ridiculous as it is an effort to connect the underlying circumstances and conditions that affect us all. Sometimes, the topics can be quite grim, such as here. To counter-balance this, Ballista attempts to inject some humor into the discourse. Most of the time it will be sarcastic, sardonic, and probably pretty twisted. And, Ballista wouldn't have it any other way. But this usually has the added effect of getting the reader to think about the subject in a way they normally wouldn't. Like it says at the top of the screen... One way or another, you'll get the point.
