Who Needs Amnesty

So the Senate today voted down the long string of words masquerading as immigration reform and border security legislation. How nice of (most of) our elected representatives to yield to the will of 80% of Americans. Ballista doubts you could get 80% of Americans to agree on which flavor of ice cream is better, fudge ripple or toadstool surprise. But 8 in 10 were against the bill being pushed by the White House and Democratic Congressional leaders. That should have been our first warning - whenever W and Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, and company agree on something, be afraid.

Anyway, all the rhetoric got Ballista thinking especially twisted thoughts. Let's play a game. Read this...

This group of people arrived where they are today through questionable means, at best. Some would say illegal means (although others maintain that they did everything on the up and up). They don't speak English, only some dialect that is incomprehensible to most Americans. In the US, this language is really only used among this particular group and sometimes in university classes. Furthermore, this group is not integrating with society. Sure, they might show up at parades waving tiny American flags and eat pizza once in a while, but mostly they stick to shops, eateries, and events that cater to their particular culture. Also, they don't pay taxes but have no problem using tax-payer subsidized services. Many in this group actually seem to think that they are entitled to these benefits. They take jobs that could be given to any number of qualified Americans. Some in this group are criminals, engaging in more felonious act the longer they stay. A lot of Americans argue that we can technically get rid of these people but that practically it's very difficult to remove more than a few at a time. Etc. etc. etc.

What group is Ballista describing? What group is it that is apparently screwing-up America? I think you'll agree with Ballista that it's...

CONGRESS.

Go ahead, read the paragraph again with the Legislative Branch in mind and tell Ballista you disagree. So how about it, America - Amnesty for Congress?

Didn't think so.
